“ My MIL helped host a bridal shower for my SIL at Red Brick. We were all blown away by how helpful and welcoming everyone was! A delicious salad at all the place settings, yummy sandwiches, and a perfect ice cream bar for our he scooped her up theme! So grateful that everyone made things so easy for us! ”
“ Good service reasonable prices and courteous staff in a fun atmosphere with good food preparation ”
“ This is my favorite London restaurant by a landslide. Aside from the historic appeal, the food here is incredible. The service is overwhelmingly hospitable. The drinks are cold and the atmosphere is second to none. I've held my birthday dinner here 3 years in a row. The menu selection is broad and there is incredible value for the prices. The prime rib is like no other, but I always swear by the mandarin spinach chicken salad. Order the hot bacon dressing no matter what you get. Hopefully the doors open back up soon. ”
“ This is my favorite place in all of London, Ohio to eat! I'm a vegetarian, but there are a few vegetarian dishes to choose from. it's not an organic restaurant, by any means, but sometimes when you're hanging out with your best friend, you have to make concessions. It's gorgeous inside with a fabulous ambiance of yesteryear. I think if you live in the area, you have to visit at least once, and if you are not from the area you should experience it at least once. It would be worth the trip! I highly recommend. ”
“ Over the years, whenever I decided to take the "scenic route" between Columbus and Springfield and/or just needed to escape the "joys" of I-70, I'd pass this landmark and wonder if it was still open, and if so, just what might be going on inside of those obviously very historic walls... Well, after a quick trip over to London to take care of some other "business," we decided to drop in and see for ourselves just what this 182 year "old friend" has to offer, besides a break from the interstate... A little musty, a little worn, but definitely this is the comfortable, "everyone knows your name/Cheers" of London/West Jefferson, OH. We were lucky to find seats at the bar, and took our time talking to friendly locals and checking out the menu. While there were few surprises, just about everything sounded pretty good on their regular menu, and there are even some weekly/monthly specials, along with a Sunday brunch buffet. The bar-tender, Kelly, is a real work-horse, and he's been there for 30+ years. The Wednesday night stopped in, it was BUSY at the bar and the handful of tables that surround it, but he handled them all himself, plus took drink orders pretty much non-stop. I ordered a perfectly acceptable fried bologna sandwich (pretty much a big, flattened out hot dog...) with a spinach salad, and the Mr. had the pecan-crusted chicken breast entree. Both perfectly acceptable, and reasonably priced. Don't come here expecting anything fancy or "nouveau." This place is like an old, comfortable pair of shoes or flannel shirt... You may not wear it every day, and it may be sort of out of "style," (whatever THAT is!!) but it's fine when that's the "look" you're going for. Plus, you MAY just run into (through?!?) a ghost or two, whooooooooooooo knows!! ”
“ Went today for the buffet; had been years ago with my dad and aunt. It's better than I remember, and it wasn't bad then. It's in a very old building, nicely preserved. For $15, the buffet was darn good. Assorted salads, cooked veggies, pork chops, made-to-order omelets and waffles, real mashed potatoes, chicken and dumplings, tilapia, eggs benedict, bacon, etc., etc. Chicken livers, which along with beef liver seem to be a favorite here but I'm still not a convert... Dried beef gravy, which I've never had but is a close cousin of sausage gravy and was quite good, as were the biscuits. Pretty much all of it was better than most buffets, though I like eggs benedict and was disappointed in this pre-made version. If the cinnamon rolls are their specialty I'm underwhelmed. Good, not great. But almost everything else was really good. Call it fancy comfort food, and call me when it's ready... ”
